Here’s the only thing that really ever happens to you
Do you like quirky? How about Will Ferrell as the straight man, and Dustin Hoffman the comic relief?
That’s the ingenious pairing in the sleeper movie Stranger than Fiction, one of the smartest, quirkiest films you’ll ever see. Ferrell plays a reclusive IRS auditor who one day learns he’s but a character in a book – one whose fate hinges on whether he’s in a comedy or tragedy.
At one point, literary professor Hoffman advises Ferrell not to sweat that distinction, and just decide to go out and make his life the one he always dreamed of.
As the hero in our own epic real-life tale, don’t we have that same opportunity?
If so, what are we waiting for?
As part of my research while creating BestEverBuzz I asked a number of people if they had a bucket list, and if so, what they’ve done about it. The answers were most often “yeah,” “sort of,” and, “well, I haven’t done much about it, if anything.”
The truth is, we’re better at planning our weekends than our lives.
BestEverBuzz to the rescue!
This is where, absolutely for free and without a catch, you can discover your inner self by exploring the outer world. See what adventures and experiences are out there, and what others are saying about them. Soon I will invite you to look at my own bucket list and see if it sparks anything in you. Take my ideas and run with them, passing me along the way if you can.
The world waits; so, why do you?
Years ago, the hilarious British puppet show Spitting Image depicted moviemaker Woody Allen at the typewriter; his wife asks if he’s writing about their life again. Looking up confused, in true Woody Allen form he says he doesn’t know what else to write about because “life is the only thing that happens to me.”
Absolutely. So why not go out and make the best of it?
